Where childhood obesity is most prevalent in Europe

World Health Organization analysis reveals the countries in Europe where childhood obesity is most prevalent, revealing the problem to be most pronounced in Mediterranean nations. Regardless of gender, Cyprus is home to the largest share of obese 6 to 9 year olds. For boys, Cyprus is joined by Italy on the top spot with 21 percent. In third place is Greece with 20 percent. For Europe's girls, Spain has the second highest rate at 17 percent, followed by Malta with 15 percent.
